Using peristaltic hose pumps is the solution for depreciation and high levels of corrosion in desulphurization process in steel, coal and other factories.
Lime is used in desulphurization process which is a highly corrosive one. Many facilities using centrifugal pumps, for example, have experienced recurring problems with seal failures, leading to excessive maintenance and repair costs.
One of the biggest hose pump producers, Watson-Marlow company in order to transfer lime slurry in a ‘energy-from-waste (EfW)’plant in Europe has recommended hose pumps. Following the change from centrifugal pumps to peristaltic hose pumps, the EfW plant has reported a more controlled operation and much improved OPEX costs. Currently eight “BREDEL” hose pumps are working in this plant.
